Amended March 11, 2010 The Town of Spafford, as the owner of two active cemeteries in the Town of Spafford, hereby adopts the following rules and regulations for said cemeteries. DESCRIPTION: - Borodino Cemetery is located on Route 41, south of the hamlet of Borodino.
- Spafford Cemetery is located on Cold Brook Road, between Route 41 and Willowdale Road
The Town of Spafford is responsible for mowing and general maintenance of both cemeteries. At their Organizational meeting, the Town Board will appoint a Caretaker for each cemetery to represent the Town. This caretaker has the authority to establish a cemetery committee to handle any complaints and call meetings as needed. Any changes in the rules and regulations must be presented to the Town of Spafford and approved by them. An annual meeting will be held each year on the second Saturday before Memorial Day at the Spafford Town Hall. This will be a joint meeting for both cemeteries. All purchases of lots will be done through the Spafford Town Clerk and a copy of the deed forwarded to the appropriate Caretaker. LOT SIZE: 4 x 10 LOT PRICE: $300.00 per lot 1) One regular burial per lot 2) Two cremations per lot 3) Vault or grave liner is required 4) Corner markers to be purchased by buyer and installed under direction of Caretaker, (4 required) 5) Headstone foundations can be done by stone company or individuals a. áUp } 2 DP overall GRAVE OPENINGS: 1) Regular Burial Cost: $250.00: to cover backhoe fee and any remaining will go to the Town of Spafford 2) Cremation Burial Cost: $100.00: to cover cost of hand digging; if done by Caretaker $35.00 paid to Caretaker, remaining will go to Town of Spafford. If hand digging will be done by individual, it must be approved by the Caretaker. 3) Any burial which involves exhumation of a vault followed by placement of the original and a second vault into the original plot will be charged double the burial fees at the time of the event. Be it further resolved charges will include the prevailing cost for removal of the original vault and placement of the second vault. LOT OWNER RESPONSIBILITIES AND CEMETERY RESTRICTIONS: 1) NO glass containers 2) NO trees or bushes 3) Lot owner is responsible for headstone cleaning and repair Maximum number of lots that can be purchased by an individual is four (4) per year unless approved by the Town of Spafford.
